Ssookseom is home to gentle people, lush rainforest (called Dangsup), centuries-old stone walls, and our Byeol garden where beautiful flowers and the blue sea hold a never-ending celebration. You’ll find cozy walking trails to enjoy the horizon and wildflowers. In spring, the sea breeze carries the fresh scent of mugwort and blossoms — just being here with our flowers and scenery will refresh your mind and soul.
Ssookseom is a small and peaceful island located in Aedo Village, Bongnae-myeon, Goheung County, Jeollanam-do, known for Naro Space Center. From Chukjeong Port (Narodo Ferry Terminal, 120-7 Narodohang-gil), it only takes about 3 minutes by boat to reach the island.
We have created this spacein hope that it will help people to take a break from the hustle of daily life — to walk, breathe in the sea air, and enjoy the ever-changing beauty of nature. We hope to serve your needs – whether for a field trip as a student, to enjoy the natural landscape of Goheung or to drop by on route to Korea’s only space center, Naro – and would be delighted by your visit to Ssookseom.
